Interrail Ferry: Italy-Greece

One of the great things about Interrail and Eurail, that some people aren’t aware of or forget about, is the fact that it allows you freedom of travel on some ferries, as well as trains and buses. The superfast ferries that run from Bari and Venice to Greece are included in the price of your Interrail or Eurail Italy Pass, but only if that Pass is also valid in Greece. If you hold a One Country Pass for either Italy or Greece, but not both, then you are instead entitled to a 30% discount on the fare.

The ferries run as follows:

• Bari – Patras
• Venice – Patras
• Venice – Igoumenitsa
• Piraeus – Heraklion
• Patras – Ancona (via Igoumenitsa)

Journey times range from 8-15 hours approximately. Rome
